Based on Long Experience |
| |
|
Plutonic Zoo’s Transformation Methodology captures the accumulated knowledge and experience
of several contributors with extensive background in Information Technology and Project Management.
|
| |
|
Select the Right Step |
| |
|
The processes within the methodology are flexibly applied. Each of the major processes can be invoked
as a discrete assignment, or can be combined as a series to complete a transformation. To use processes discretely
requires that the defined pre-requisites for each process are provided as input to a selected process.
|
| |
|
Match to Your Need |
| |
|
The methodology is designed to cope with projects across a diversity of size, technology, and approach.
The templates can be tailored to apply to large and small projects, traditional and emerging technologies, Rapid Application
Development and traditional waterfall and iterative life cycles.

|
The Magic Happens “Here” |
| |
|
The methodology itself is a tool and it is acknowledged that it requires the perspective and judgment of a
skilled project manager to use it to achieve success.

control standards are available on request from info@plutoniczoo.com.

Existing Business
All business transformations are a change from an existing situation to a new one and the invested base of intellectual
property, infrastructure and people, are assets that should be enhanced and exploited wherever possible to fulfill the
new need. Plutonic Zoo’s mission is rejuvenation rather than trash and rebuild. The value that can be retained as well
as the value that can be created are therefore carefully considered.

Business Alignment
This process provides a framework for a variety of consulting assignments where it is necessary to uncover information locked
within an organisation or to collaborate on solving a business problem. The process includes briefings, interviews and workshops
and seeks to establish a consensus buy-in and the development and commitment to a course of action which fulfils the business objectives.

| |
|
Discover
This process takes a course of action for a specific business objective from a Business Alignment and identifies the details of the
logistical, functional, environmental and economic requirements needed to architect a solution with confidence. The process
results
in a solution approach being defined that will meet the business requirements, including validated design prototypes, business
function
specifications and an acceptable deployment approach.

Plan
This process translates the solution approach developed into an implement-able plan that takes into account all of the details
identified in the Discover process. Plan solves all of the how-to questions and quantifies and qualifies every element required
to deliver the solution. Plan results in a technical blueprint that includes a detailed work breakdown structure, agreed designs,
software and hardware components, and an integration roadmap that will allow the implementation to succeed.

Transform
This process is the culmination of the Discover and Plan processes and is entirely dependant on the quality of its input.
The focus in this process is on following a detailed plan and executing it optimally. The process includes preparation of
the team members to familiarise them with the plan, to set the standards and to communicate the critical success factors.
The necessary environments are prepared. The solution is created according to the plan, and tested to ensure that the solution
functions as expected and delivers to the requirements. The final step is handover, which includes all aspects of rollout
and integration of the solution into the business.

Sustain
During the life of an operational system a variety of activities are required. These include ongoing monitoring and assessment
of the system in view of changing activity levels, the underlying technology and the business situation.
Any of these facets may create a need for adjustment. The Sustain process supports the monitoring and review activity as well
as the management of the solution to ensure optimum value is extracted from the operational system. In this way the process refines,
maintains and supports the fulfilment of the business objective.

Project Management
This process is a fundamental underpinning of Plutonic Zoo’s approach. Every assignment, however small or irregular,
has an assigned Project Manager who is responsible for the outcome of the assignment. The project manager’s role is
to ensure that everyone involved is aware and engaged as necessary for success. This is facilitated by a number of key
documents, which are the focus of management of activity. These include the Statement of Work for the assignment, the
Project
Charter which defines the assumptions, communication plan with all stakeholders, the project’s organisation and interfaces,
the
work plan, budget and schedule, and the regular Project Review which outlines progress and issues to the Client.

Quality Assurance
This process is a key reason for our confidence in the outcome. Every assignment is supervised by a
seasoned professional to ensure that the methodology is being applied effectively and that potential obstacles
and threats to success are recognised and eliminated as early as possible. Audits and reviews are conducted
as appropriate, including a Post Implementation Review, which seeks to improve the ongoing effectiveness of the methodology.
